I started out making gifts for family and friends. Being able to share my creations with others is a dream come true. I have done a lot of practicing, learning, and creating to make this happen. I went back to school in 2012 as an adult and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay in May 2017. It was even more special because my oldest daughter graduated from high school the same year. My family is very supportive and we are extremely close.
My favorite flowers are lilacs and my first memory of them are from when I was a little girl and my great-grandparents baby sat me. They had a shanty in the back yard that was used as a storage shed, but when their house was being built they actually lived in it on weekends. There were lilac bushes all along the back. It had windows, two separate rooms, and I have many memories of playing "house" in the shanty. The smell of lilacs in the spring always brings back those memories for me. The shanty that is featured in my logo is the shanty that still sits in the yard of the house where my great-grandparents lived.
In 2016 I became a Terri Johnson Creates Licensed Silhouette Instructor. I love showing others tips & tricks using their Silhouette Cameo cutting machines. I use my Silhouette for making wood signs, t-shirts, and other gifts which is inspired by the Lilac Shanty. Just recently I discovered Chalk Couture and became an Independent Designer. I love this new product and enjoy sharing all of its possibilities. Check out the calendar of events for my next Create & Take event!
My newest venture is an online Silhouette course for beginners! It is in the planning stages right now, but I'm working hard and really excited to launch it soon.
