Old Made New Again

The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies of all time. For Christmas one year I got this tin man from my brother and sister-in-law. After a few years hanging out in the elements, he looked ready for the junk yard. I've been using these AMAZING paints for making wood signs, but this was the first time trying them on metal. I used steel wool to get rid of most of rust, then my hubby sprayed the pieces with Corroseal, a rust converting metal primer. It turns rust a black color and prevents it from coming through the paint. I then used Wipeout a base coat product from Treasure by the Sea Paints. It is an incredible base coat that allows you to paint over surfaces without sanding! The colors I used were Mermaid Mist and Weathered Pier Treasures.
